Welcome to Rainbow Man, a serialized novel about a grieving widower who travels to Spain to find solace and restart a life only to find himself entangled in the counterculture past of a younger woman.

Summary of Chapter 23: Robert recalls a time with this father, and seeks solitude to understand what Chloe has done.

CHAPTER 24

The hotel manager said he had knocked on the door that morning, once and then twice, and had opened it with a master key after there had been no response, calling out as he entered the room. Robert asked what he had found, how it looked. Be specific, Robert insisted. Although he thought the request odd, the manager explained what he had discovered. The window open; the curtains lightly twisted from the breeze. The bed turned down, a pillow with the imprint of a head once resting. In the bathroom, evidence of a shower, water droplets on the tiles. Two white towels had been tossed on the floor. The room key had been left on the bathroom counter.
