A serialized novel by best-selling author David W. Berner
Welcome to Rainbow Man, a serialized novel about a grieving widower who travels to Spain to find solace and restart a life only to find himself entangled in the counterculture past of a younger woman.
Summary of Chapter 17: Chloe reveals more of her secret past and contemplates finding a final solution to her illness and her life’s struggles.
At the top of the hill near the market, Robert sat in a heavy iron chair, black, the same color as the small table next to it. It was at the north end of the plaza, close to the street but not where it can sometimes be busy, especially in the morning. The market merchants moved slowly, setting up their wooden tables, hauling crates from the beds of small trucks. Robert watched a man and young girl, maybe a father and daughter, working meticulously, stacking Pomegranates in pyramid style, and placing bread, dusted white with flour at intricate angles so that the crusty ends reached out of the baskets.
